MARTA ADMIRAL
Dancer, choreographer, artistic director, and cultural manager
She trained as a dancer and choreographer in Barcelona, Paris, and New York.
From 1981 to 2006, she created and directed the Roseland Dance School, and in 1987 she founded the company Roseland Musical, where she continues to develop innovative dance performances aimed especially at children and young audiences.
In 2007, she received the National Culture Award from the Government of Catalonia in recognition of the artistic quality of her career.
From 2008 to 2017, she led the Festivals and Traditions Department at the Barcelona Institute of Culture, where she directed some of the city's most emblematic cultural events: the Barcelona Three Kings Parade, MAC—Mercè Street Arts Festival, Santa Eulàlia Festival, Llum BCN Festival, and Món Llibre, a literary event dedicated to children and youth. She continued this work as an external artistic director until January 2024.
In 2021, she was awarded the Ramblista d’Honor Prize, granted by the Amics de la Rambla Association, which recognizes individuals, organizations, or projects that contribute to enhancing, promoting, or dignifying the city of Barcelona.
Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous choreographic projects with her company, notably as choreographer for the film "Tic Tac" by Rosa Vergés, as well as artistic director of the Centenary of FC Barcelona and several Special Olympics ceremonies, among other major international events
